Financial Policy

Bui Psychological Services’s billing policies help you understand your financial responsibility, how often you’ll receive statements, and how we bill your health insurance company. We also help you understand our billing processes before your visits, allowing you to focus on your health.

We require a credit card on file to book an appointment.

Billing Policies

Insurance is billed—As a courtesy to you, BPS bills your health insurance carrier when you provide a valid insurance ID card or other proof of coverage. We bill all insurance carriers, including Medicaid and commercial carriers. We will follow up and pursue payment from all insurance carriers. You are responsible for all balances your insurance carrier does not cover. If we do not receive a payment from your insurance carrier within 45 days, you will be asked to contact your insurance carrier.

Patient is billed – As a patient of BPS, you are responsible for paying for any services you receive. You’ll receive a bill in the mail/via email for any unpaid balances not covered by your insurance company. These include copayment (a flat fee you pay each time you receive a particular service), deductible (the amount you must pay each year for health-related expenses before your insurance company begins paying), and coinsurance (the percentage of each claim above the deductible that you pay).

You may request an itemized bill at any time.

After receiving services, BPS sends up to four statements through our electronic health platform Tebra, usually on the 5th of each month, as long as your account remains open with a balance due. If no payment arrangements are made and your account becomes delinquent, BPS may forward your account to a collection agency or attorney.
